Justin obtained his LLB from the University of Kent in 2011. He then completed his LLM in Intellectual Property Law at King's College London in 2012. Following this he completed his PhD at King's College London in 2016. Justin’s primary research interest is focused on copyright law.
Justin is a tenured Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, UWI, St Augustine. Prior to joining UWI, Justin was a Visiting Lecturer at King’s College London and a Teaching Fellow at University College London (UCL). He is an expert in intellectual property, sports, and entertainment law.
Justin specialises in: copyright law, trade mark law, the development and management of intellectual property portfolios, commercialisation of intellectual property rights and contracts concerning intellectual property rights.
Justin has worked with entities including: Island Crashers, WOW Events, Tribe, Travis World, Spirit Mas, as well as a range of artists, musical performers, film-makers, authors, entertainers, athletes, inventors, technology start-up companies, sport companies, event promoters and other medium, small and micro enterprises across a range of industries. Justin has also redrafted the Copyright Act of St Christopher and Nevis and drafted a Caribbean wide instrument for the regulation of collective management organisations that is being implemented across the region.
