What is Copyright?

Copyright protects your literary, dramatic, musical and artistic works. It provides the owner of a copyright work with the exclusive rights to restrict others from exploiting the work without permission. Unlike trade marks, copyright does not have to be registered in order to be protected (note: the USA is the only country that requires registration to enforce your copyright).

Copyright works include: writings (novels, poetry, recipes), screenplays, films, movies, music, sound recordings, sculptures, paintings, drawings etc.
